"Pens and School Supplies for International Townships"

PASS IT (501c3) Charity

My name is Rachel and I attend UPenn. After a trip to South Africa in 2006, I enlisted the help of PLAYSOCCER™ to create the non-profit organization PASS IT. My aim was to help improve the school that I visited in the South African township of Khayelitsha, just outside of Cape Town.

The aim for 2007 was to collect for one school in one township. In the first summer, with the help of all the PLAYSOCCER™ coaches and your generosity we collected over 20 thousand school supply items and we matched this in 2009. Due to your support we have now helped schools in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda also with groups in MA we have reached children in Mexico.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

On the 26th June I  traveled back to Cape Town and to Khayelitsha to personally deliver items to the school I visited in 2006. Through your generosity we have so much more to pass out that I have made contact with other schools and towns in need along the coast.

Our goal for the summer of 2010 is to have every camper donate at least one item from the list below.

Notebooks, paper, pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers, pencil sharpeners, erasers, rulers.

Please keep donating, send your items to the address below.

Read why I chose to work with the children of the townships

South Africa is obviously a beautiful country - But there is a beauty here that many people do not hear about and never get the chance to witness.

These children have so little but they are so full of laughter and love.  We are fortunate to have a good education system unlike the children we met. There is not enough money to buy basic education necessities that we take for granted such as pens, pencils, and paper.

All of them express hopes and dreams for the future. With the help of your donations, I would like to help make their dreams possible.

Please keep donating, send your items to, Play Soccer, 24 St Martin Dr, Unit 10, Marlborough, MA 01752
